‘ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL’ Cambridge Outsider Art Event from September 1st - 27th at the Michaelhouse Centre, Trinity St., Cambridge. Cafe is open from 9.30 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. This is an exciting new exhibition that uses art to examine the position of the outsider, both within the creative sphere and society as a whole. Curated by the Cambridge Outsider Arts Team (COAST) it features work by 15 different artists, including the homeless and individuals affected by mental health problems as well as professional artists exploring the question of what it means to be an outsider. Featured pieces include Govinda Sah’s ‘Hope and Horror’; Peter Heywood’s ‘Flight of the Condor’, and Deanna Tyson’s tender tributes to her mother living in care. COAST is a Cambridge-based artisis collective working alongside the CambridgeFringe Open Studioos and plays a key role in the city’s burgeoning fringe movement. Another Brick in the Wall is their biggest venture so far.
